Halcyon was a normal young man of 18; confident, healthy, and ready to take on the world. His black hair was long, his muscles toned and his stride was strong. He was particularly obsessed with fire type pokemon; he had an only fire type party. But the pokemon that appealed to him most was a one of lore. Moltres. He had always been a fan of the three bird legends when he was young, but he was so fascinated by this fire avian that he had come to love the fiery-personalitied flame types in the first place. And it just matched his own personality too well. Fire type fit him to a tee. When he had hit the age of his adulthood, he left out and away from his home to hunt all over the world for new pokemon. The night he left, he leaped on his Charizard and took off. His travels led him into the Kanto region, and to Vermilion City. He had been staying in a hotel for a night, when he couldn't help but overhear a middle aged couple mention the flying fireball.
"Honey, did you see the newspaper today? They said they caught glimpse of Moltres! Now how can this even be true?"
"I don't know darling, but it seems remarkable! We should catch the next cruise out to the Sevii Islands~"
Could his ears deceive him? He mouthed the name of the blazing bird, then looked down to the tile. He had to go see if the rumor was true. What island, though? He ran up to his room to check on his Town Map. He opened it and flipped it over. He saw the seven islands, all lined up in a zigzagged pattern column down the back. He studied it, looking at all the land marks. When he went from Nine Island all the way up to the top, that's when he spotted it.
"Mount Ember...." He thought in his mind this was the only logical place this bird could be. He gazed at it for a long time with his hazel eyes, then put it down with a sigh. That's where he would start his search tomorrow....
Long before the break of dawn, he got up the next morning with all his stuff packed and ready to go. He figured he would only need his Charizard, so he put all the others into his side bag. He left the money on the table in the room, checked out, then walked outside. He sent out his Charizard, and it purred at him as he stroked it behind the scales of his horns.
"Ready to fly today?" he whispered to the Charizard, who blinked calmly as its reply. He then moved away and swung himself on as his Charizard took off into the air and flew to the Sevii Islands like a comet.
When he got to the island, there was already people crowded outside of Mount Ember. They were all demanding the presence of Moltres.
"We wanted Moltres!" "We wanted to see the legendary fire bird!" "You're gonna refund me my trip if I don't see this bird!" An angry crowd demanded, enough people on a ledge to the point of not being able to walk around without slipping of the sides of the ledges. Halcyon snaked through the crowd and more to the left. There was an announcer at the top of the highest ledge in the dome of the dead volcano. He raised his hands for silence.
"Please, everyone! I cannot guarantee Moltres will even show itself! We have not advertised this as some show! The only thing that ever was mentioned was a picture and a story of it flying over head! I cannot prove these real, but please, could you all stop this riot and leave?" The crowd roared louder at this request. Halcyon's eyes looked through the almost seemingly impenetrable crowd over to the far left of the stage. There was a slight crevice in the wall of the volcano.... Seeing as how he was the farthest to the left and could barley see it, he figured no one else would either. He beckoned for his Charizard to come down from a ridge on the volcano, and to be put in its pokeball. He made certain that no one had seen him moving towards the hole in the wall. He slowly slide toward it, and at the right moment, he slipped into the entrance, unnoticed. He didn't bother to check to see if anyone had been following him, but he automatically took out his Charizard again. He whispered to it to use Strength, and, surprisingly, with the silence of a mouse compared to the screaming crowd, his Charizard placed boulders in front of the entry way to the cave. With that done, he had only the light of his Charizard's tail to light the way. Suddenly feeling claustrophobic and hot, they continued on. They traveled a bit up the path, and the cave started to become brighter. It was then he came to realize the cave was being filled with hot steam. He coughed as it choked him, and they proceeded on as fast as they could. He trudged on in the warm, brown dirt until he had a coughing fit. Out of concern for its trainer, Charizard used Defog around them to clear and cool the air. Halcyon panted in thanks. They continued on into the passage, climbing up flights and flights of stairs, and finally reached a slightly illuminated cave mouth. They proceeded through, and turned the bend as they went out and back out to the outside. The sky was clear, and Halcyon was thankful to be able to breathe again. He barely looked down over the edge of the cliff, seeing the other crowd look like tiny Durant in the distance. He grinned. They'd never suspect a thing. He made sure to stay away from the cliff side as they continued to trek up the mountain. They climbed several more flights of stairs until they hit a long, treacherous looking tower of stairs into the side of the mountain. Halcyon's legs quivered as he climbed up, but he would feel bad to ask his Charizard to fly even more than it had. The sun was just about up and slowly rising towards the middle of the sky. When he had hit the top of the stairs, the late morning light was shining in. He had hit the half mark, and they continued in the barely lit cave that surrounded just the stairs. It was oddly build exactly like a little tunnel. His Charizard suddenly groaned, almost bursting with anticipation. Halcyon continued to climb, then hit a plateau which was covered in boulders. His Charizard proceeded to move all of the stones out of the way with a weird eagerness to complete their quest. Halcyon had a suspicion as to why his Charizard was so excited.
".... You know it's here, don't you?" Halcyon asked his Charizard calmly. It stood at the mouth of a pitch black cave, and turned to look at him. Its purple eyes glittered with a hint of longing and truth in wanting to know if the bird was real itself. The Charizard blinked in approval. Halcyon nodded slowly.
"... Stay here. Don't come up until I tell you to...." He walked up to the Charizard and pet it on the neck. It looked at him slightly sadly.
"Don't worry. You'll meet it..... I need to calm it down first...."
He was not planning on capturing the bird. he had no intent at all. He turned, and proceeded to climb up the last small flight of stairs. There, in the cavern, was a completely smooth room. all the rock seemed to clear away to a perfect circle, and in the middle of it, was a smooth, sleek rock. The light gently fluttered down from a huge gap in the roof of the cave, illuminating the rock and the smooth ground underneath it for a few feet around. But that wasn't the most dazzling part. Halcyon's heart burst into raging fire as he spied the famous and sacred legendary bird. It was Moltres. The bird looked at him calmly, seemingly unaffected by the human. Its eyes were gentle, and behind that was just the spark of fire behind its personality. No doubt this pokemon was of the same nature and character as him. He stepped forward.
".... Moltres...." Halcyon whispered, almost as if he hadn't had a drink in a week. The bird kept its gaze on him, it's wings crackling with burning fire. In the depths of his mind, he saw this boy as special. The bird kept his gaze as Halcyon bowed to it with respect. Moltres paused, but then as Halcyon watched it, it dipped its head, its eyes closing in silent honor.
".... Moltres.... I have not come here to catch you or to enslave you in an evil plan of Team Rockets.... But I have come here just to marvel at you.... You have always been my favorite pokemon of so called myth.... So if I may please, just keep this moment in my memory....." Halcyon's words were slow spoken and true. The bird watched his eyes with a penetrating gaze, but then they narrowed slightly as if it were annoyed. Halcyon's eyes widened in fear that he may have angered it, but then it suddenly rose its neck. Halcyon's Charizard, in the meanwhile, listened for any commotion. Halcyon couldn't move as Moltres kept its head raised, but then it suddenly clacked its beak in an odd way. It's as if it was muttering to itself. It then gave a loud, deafening cry, and it quickly took off and into the air. As suddenly as it happened, it ended. Halcyon's eyes winced tightly, but then they flashed open as something hit the ground. The impact sounded a lot softer than what the object might have really caused. He looked over, and as the burning bits of ash fell, there was an orb on the rock. It fiercely glowed with yellow and orange, and was a fiery red on the outside. Halcyon was intrigued as he walked toward it, watching it burn as if it were on fire. He almost didn't want to pick it up in fear that it might singe his fingertips. But he decided against his fear. Suddenly, it felt as if his heart stopped as he touched the orb. He knew then that he had touched Moltres itself. His mind went blurry, and he fell onto the ground before he flashed away, clutching the orb tightly. His Charizard raced into the room to find his trainers stuff left behind and no trace of him. The Charizard, as confused as it was, wept for the return of its trainer.
When Moltres got to the half pokemon world, he found himself in a fiery volcano. It, oddly, didn't seem to effect him much. He was a lot hotter now, and his body was comfortable. Wait. He wasn't bothered by being near lava? He looked down to see his boots on him, but recolored and given shiny, chrome, steel-toed boots. He stopped. "This isn't what I was wearing before...." He then touched himself, and his hair seemed to naturally just flow with the wind. He pulled a strand to his face to see that it was yellow, orange and red and burned like a flame. He took the buttoned shirt on his chest and tore it until it was open, and he saw the licks of flame of tattoos on his chest and arms. He nearly stumbled as he moved his new fire wings, a gust of wind almost pushing him off the ledge he was on. His heart could have froze despite the hot body he was in.
"I'm... Moltres...."

-Is strong willed, and will do anything he sets his mind to.
-He may accidentally boast about his powers when he is innocently trying to explain himself.
-May accidentally burn others.
-Gets upset if anyone misjudges him if he made a mistake. If he means a gesture of kindness and it's taken to heart as a hurt, he will get really upset with himself.
